March Reads

Hi all — Happy April!

March was another great month of reading, and I’ve got some fun recommendations to share. I had another trip—this time for work—which gave me plenty of reading time. With the weather starting to warm up, my pace might slow down a bit, but so far, it’s been a strong start to the year!

Let’s dive into my reads for March!

The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins

I know I’m a little late to the game on this one, but I finally read the book—and I personally loved it. I understand there’s been a lot of controversy surrounding it, so it’s probably one of those books you’ll either love or hate, depending on how much you already know about the concept. I went into it without any prior knowledge, and for me, it was incredibly motivating—a great reminder about the power of mindset. I highly recommend giving it a read, and if you enjoy listening to a wide range of topics, check out The Mel Robbins Podcast as well. She brings the same energy and insight to her episodes that make the book so impactful.

This Is Why We Lied by Karin Slaughter

This Is Why We Lied is book number 12 in the Will Trent series, which is also a TV series on ABC. That said, it works perfectly fine as a standalone read. Karin Slaughter is known for tackling heavy topics that often warrant trigger warnings, and this book is no exception. I really enjoyed it, but fair warning—the family it follows is deeply troubled, and it’s an intense, wild ride from start to finish.

The Stillwater Girls by Minka Kent

I was really excited to dive into another Minka Kent book, but this one fell a bit short for me. It was a quick read, and while it wasn’t a bad book by any means, there were several moments that felt a bit too far-fetched and unbelievable, which took me out of the story. That said, it has a great rating on Goodreads, so clearly a lot of readers loved it—it just landed as more of a mediocre read for me.

The Only One Left by Riley Sager

If you enjoyed Verity by Colleen Hoover, this book has a very similar vibe! The Only One Left was another quick, entertaining read—perfect if you’re looking for something you can finish in just a couple of days. I gave it 4 stars, mostly because of the ending. There was one plot point that felt completely implausible, which caused the conclusion to fall a bit flat for me. Still, overall, it was a solid read that I’d definitely recommend.

I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh

This was probably my favorite book of the month! Some reviews mention that the beginning is a bit slow, and I’d have to agree—but I think it was necessary. That slower start really made the twists hit even harder, and there were some great ones. The ending had me in tears, which is always a sign of a good book. I highly recommend this one!

Where He Can’t Find You by Darcy Coates

Where He Can’t Find You was a fun read and a bit different from my usual picks. It leans more toward the young adult genre, and if you’re a fan of Stranger Things, you’ll probably enjoy this—it has a very similar vibe. I gave it 4 stars, mostly because the fantasy elements aren’t usually my thing, but it was still a solid and enjoyable book. If you’re into fantasy, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try!

The Maid’s Diary by Loreth Anne White

I may have found a new favorite author! I read another Loreth Anne White book last month that I gave 5 stars, and The Maid’s Diary was no exception. It was such a fun, fast-paced read—I couldn’t put it down. The ending delivered some twists I definitely didn’t see coming. Such a great read!

As always, if you’ve read any of these, I would love to hear your thoughts and if you have any great books you’ve been reading, I would love recommendations to add to my TBR list.

Stay hungry my friends!
